 About Seminar

As we know that over exploitation of the natural resources of the earth by us is disturbing the ecological balance leading to: Natural disasters, Pestilences, Earthquakes, Landslides, Heavy downpour, Scanty rainfall, Sever draught conditions etc., at a rapid rate and is causing about 50000 deaths per year on an average. This is also producing grave mishaps and injuries that is more than 100 times as many victims and many homeless.

The environmental issues are also harmful aspects of human activity on the biophysical environment. Environmentalism, a social and environmental movement that started in 1960s, addresses environmental issues through advocacy, education and activism. Current problems faced by the environment are: Carbon-dioxide equivalent of Green-house gases (GHG) in the atmosphere, that has already exceeded 300 parts per million (NOAA) (with total “long-term” GHG exceeding 455 parts per million) as per Intergovernmental Panel on ‘Climate Change Report’. This level is considered as tipping point. The amount of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere is already above the threshold that can potentially cause dangerous climate change.

We are already at risk... It’s not next year or next decade, It’s now.

On the other hand climate change risks are becoming the biggest challenges of the 21st century, such as: Rising sea level, that could force us to alter many ways through which economic and social activities are arranged. Climate related changes may threaten human health, disrupt economic activity, damage natural ecosystem irreversibly and even (in worst case scenarios) may lead to mass migration, good shortage and other global humanitarian crises. We have to outline the global climate strategy to curb it such as: Conversion to lower carbon economies in both developed and developing countries, with market-besed incentive schemes dominant in the former group, and low-carbon technology transfer schemes dominant in the latter.

Forthcoming seminar aims at recognizing links and addressing gaps, offering strategic recommendations for exploitation of natural, renewable and non-conventional energy sources to overcome the environmental damages and climate change risks by providing disaster management strategies and streamline and aftermath of the natural disasters and explore the probable pre and post natural disaster prevention machinery to minimize the global loss of GDP to a great extent.

The Theme of Seminar:

How to foster the renewable energy and make planet full of sustainable energy; What are the causes of environmental changes & How could it be controlled; What are the reasons for Global Warming and causes for Natural Disaster and How these challenges can be overcome?

Theme Areas of Discussion:

i) Exploitation of Natural Resources
ii) Potential of Natural Energy in India
iii) Renewable Energy Resources
iv) Depletion of Glaciers & Icebergs
v) Climate Changes
vi) Other Environmental Challenges

 Call of Papers

School of Management Sciences, Technical Campus, Lucknow in association with The Institution of Engineers (India), U.P. State Centre, Lucknow and Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University, Lucknow is organizing an International Seminar on “Sources of Planet Energy, Environmental & Disaster Science: Glacier Melting & Its Challenges” (SPEEDS-2017) on Dec’ 09-10, 2017, which will provide us a good platform to express our deep concern over the aforementioned themes in interaction with the academicians / industrialists.
You are therefore requested to kindly submit your abstract (on the mentioned dates) and after getting approval from reviewer committee, you can send your full length paper (on the mentioned dates) for presentation in the SPEEDS-2017. All the selected papers are going to be published in the International Journal of Physical Sciences, Engineering and Technology (SAMRIDDHI-2017) in different Special volumes.
Thus, you are required to select topic of your choice from these areas and submit your abstract on or before the mentioned date in not more that 250 words so that it could become a part of our Souvenir.
