He completed his B.Tech. with distinction in 1989, M.E. with distinction in 1991 and Ph.D. in 1999. Dr. Singh started his career as Lecturer in Mechanical Engineering Department at Institute of Engg. & Technology, Lucknow and served as Lecturer / Senior Lecturer during May 1991 to August 1999 and joined as Assistant Professor in Mechanical Engineering Department at Harcourt Butler Technological Institute, Kanpur in August 1999 and became Professor in January 2007 in same Department. He served as Additional Controller of Examination at Uttar Pradesh Technical University, Lucknow during August 2004 to January 2007 on service transfer basis and made the unique beginning of use of ICT in U.P. Technical University through innovation of OMR cover type answer books for direct capturing of marks & online marks submission for transparency in tabulation, web based college management system for examination related works. During his academic career of more than 22 years till now, Dr. Singh has taught various subjects at UG/PG levels and has authored 4 books, edited 04 conference proceedings and written 03 chapters in different books. He has published 45 papers in International journals, 13 papers in National journals and 85 papers in proceedings of International / National conferences. Dr. Singh has guided 07 Ph.D., large no. of Dissertations/Projects at PG/UG level and presently guiding 5 Ph.D. & many PG/UG Dissertation/Projects. He has completed 07 sponsored projects from different agencies of State & Govt. of India. He successfully commercialized ‘Light Weight Motorized Wheel Chair’ and obtained its patent in collaboration with Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation (ALIMCO), Kanpur. He is presently engaged in development of ‘Solar Powered Tricycle for Handicapped’ in collaboration with ALIMCO. He has also filed one patent for development of ‘Compressed Air Engine’. Along with being a good teacher Dr. Singh has handled no. of administrative assignments successfully and made exemplary contributions to different organizations through his dedicated, committed and innovative approach with high integrity. Some of the major administrative assignments handled are Coordinator, U.P. State Engineering Entrance Examination-2011, Dean of Academic Affairs, H.B.T.I.,Kanpur, Controller of Examination, Head of Mechanical Engineering Department, H.B.T.I.,Kanpur, Additional Controller of Examination, U.P.T.U., Lucknow, Assistant Coordinator, Combined Entrance Examination of UP-1994 & UP State Engineering Admission Test -1999. Dr. Singh is Member of the Board of Governor of Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur as U.P. Govt. Nominee , Member of Board of Governors of Kamla Nehru Institute of Technology, Sultanpur, Member of State Steering Committee of TEQIP-World Bank under State Project Facilitation Unit, Lucknow. Dr. Singh is Fellow of The Institution of Engineers(India), Life Member of Indian Society of Technical Education, Life Member of Oil Technologists Association of India, Member of Indian Society of Heating and Refrigeration Engineers , and has been elected as Member(Mechanical) of Executive Committee of The Institution of Engineers U.P. State Centre Lucknow. Dr. Singh contributes significantly in different outside academic activities, e.g. he has been the Convener of Board of Studies, Mechanical Engineering, UPTU/GBTU, Lucknow, Member of Research Degree Committees of no. of Universities, Expert Member of National Board of Accreditation, AICTE, New Delhi, Expert Member in Public Service Commissions of U.P., Uttarakhand & M.P. etc. He has organized 11 National/International conferences and 03 short term course/workshop. He is on the editorial board of different International & National journals. He is the recipient of National Scholarship throughout education upto Bachelor degree and has received AICTE Young Teacher Career Award in year 2000. Dr. Singh has also received Letters of Appreciation for his contributions as Additional Controller of Examination and Coordinator, UPSEE-2011 by the Vice Chancellors of UPTU, Lucknow and MTU, Noida respectively.

Her areas of specializations are Solar Thermal Systems, Solar Photovoltaic Systems, Wind Energy Conversion Systems, Bio-energy Systems, Mini and Micro Hydel Systems, Energy Conservation, Climate Change and NMR Spectroscopy. After her education, she joined the Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto, Nigeria as a Faculty Member and also participated as an Associate Member at the Sokoto Energy Research Centre of the same University. She also acted as the Head of the Department for some times during 1977-90 period.Prof Bajpai returned to India in 1990 after serving for 13 years in Nigeria and joined the Department of Physics, University of Lucknow as a CSIR Pool Officer. She was appointed as a Faculty Member in Physics in University of Lucknow in 1991 and promoted to Professor in 2007. Under her supervision 08 research scholars have been awarded Ph D and 02 students are working as SRF/Research Scholar. She established Renewable Energy Research Laboratory in the Department of Physics soon after joining the Department. She was the Coordinator of Renewable Energy in the Centre of Excellence in Renewable Energy Education and Research of the University of Lucknow. She started M Sc Programme in Renewable Energy in 2007-08. The University Grants Commission (UGC) had sanctioned a new programme called B Voc Renewable Energy Technology from the academic session 2015-16 and the University had appointed Prof Bajpai as the Director of B Voc Renewable Energy Technology Programme. After her superannuation in June 2017, the University authorities have again given her the responsibilities of Honorary Coordinator, Renewable Energy at the Centre of Excellence in Renewable Energy Education and Research, University of Lucknow.

Dr. Venkatesh Dutta is an associate professor at the School for Environmental Sciences, BBAU, Lucknow. He is a British Chevening Scholar from University of Wales, UK and a Fulbright Scholar, University of Maryland, USA. He possesses Ph.D in Regulatory and Policy Research with a focus on Urban Water Systems from TERI University, M.Sc. in Environment Management and B. Sc. in Environmental Sc. from University of Delhi. His research interests pertain, primarily to environment and development, technology policy management, and water resources. He is also interested in action-oriented and evidence based research and is actively seeking to developing structured capacity building programs and local planning mechanisms. With the support from DST, he is mentoring researchers at the Centre for Policy Research at BBAU, Lucknow where he is working on policies and mechanisms that could facilitate delivery of S&T outputs for social inclusion. He has guided four doctoral candidates and more than 30 masters� theses on different aspects of environment and sustainable development. He has to his credit more than 40 research papers. He is a fellow of Society of Earth Sciences India and life member of International Association of Hydrological Sciences (IAHS), UK; Indian Water Resources Society, IIT Roorkee and Indian Association of Hydrologists.

Prof. Alok Kumar, brings with him an expertise on Strategic Management and General Management subjects like Business Environment and Management Principles in addition to his Research areas involving Advertising and Mass Communication. Lately, he has also developed passion in researching Environmental, Energy and Disaster Management issues. His contributions have been published in previous two SPEEDS proceedings. His Doctoral thesis on �Advertising Appeals� from the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology (Indian School of Mines) - Dhanbad is a pioneering work in this field in India. He has to his credit five other PG qualifications. He has convened/organised/attended 30 Seminars/Conferences in SMS and attended 22 National / International Conferences & Seminars outside SMS. He has conducted 46 MDPs for bodies like MSME, NCL-Singrauli, UP Tourism, UBI (all Govt. bodies), Hindalco Industries Ltd., All India Carpet Manufacturers Association etc. He is also the founder editor of the pioneer SMS International Journal �Management Insight� since 2004. He has been in front pages of national news papers for his research on climate change and urban transport. He has prepared Disaster management plan of Lucknow City for UNDP and State Government and was part of various UNDP projects on Disaster management. He has authored twelve research papers on issues related to urban development and climate change.
